1957-1992
L'homme: Enfant, Eric Le Courtois avait déjà décidé, envers et contre tout, de diriger sa vie vers la voie artistique avec tous les risques que cela pouvait comporter .
Jusqu'à l'age de 34 ans, il partagea sa peinture entre Saumur, sa ville natale, la Provence côte d'azur via la Polynésie...Il exposa d'abord dans des bars, restaurants d'Anjou et des environs etc, jusqu'à 1991 où il remporta le premier prix jeune peinture de la ville de Saumur. A partir de ce moment, les expositions ne se comptèrent plus aussi bien en galeries, qu'en salons à Nantes, Saumur, Angers et autres villes du Val de loire….
L'oeuvre: Travaillant diverses techniques de peintures, d'abord l'huile, les pastels, le fusain,les aquarelles sur papier ou carton.

1992-1995
L'homme: Alors que tout lui souriait, en 1992, il se rendit compte que là n'était pas sa voie. Il voulait connaître le fond, décida de changer d'horizons et commença un periple de trois ans, sans domicile fixe, la rue étant son lieu de vie, à pied, évoluant seul, à pied sur les routes de France et d'Europe, , Paris, Honfleur, Bordeaux, Lyon, etc. Et il connut le fond.
L'oeuvre: Avec les éléments du bord, papier et encres, ses dessins furent ses seuls moyens de survie.
1995-2001
L'homme: Ayant touché le fond, il décida de refaire surface et se posa là-même où il avait atterri, en Haute Savoie et s'installa dans la ville de Thonon les bains, où peu à peu, il se fit connaître et apprécier. Il exposa dans de nombreux sites et galeries du Dauphine, Thonon,Evian,etc…, mais aussi en Suisse à Genève, participant également à de nombreux actes officiels.(voir liste des exposicions )
L'oeuvre: Sa peinture évolua et se laissa dominer par l'abstrait jusqu'à ce que ce soit lui qui le domine, un abstrait avec le plus souvent une touche de figuratif, où la pensée l'emporte sur la spontanéité, où la raison l'emporte sur les sens… Mais l'artiste étant abstrait lui-même, vivant et "sur -vivant" dans l'abstrait…dure était toujours la tâche…
1996 1998 1999
2000-
Date charnière, il rencontra sa compagne qui l'amena très rapidement à partager son temps et sa peinture, entre Thonon les bains et Malaga en Andalousie où elle vivait, puis à Majorque, aux Baléares, où elle fut promue
2000 2000
2001/2004
L'homme: Elect s'installa à Palma de Majorque aux Baleares où il y monta son atelier -galerie. Une stabilité toute nouvelle et les nouvelles couleurs lumineuses de l'île firent s'accélérer son rythme de production. Il exposa, en plus de son atelier, dans plusieurs galeries de l'ile de Majorque
L'oeuvre: Le pointillisme est présent dans presque toute ses oeuvres principalement sur papier, un pointillisme intégré dans des lignes géométriques, des collages et des polychromes harmonieux (voir liste)
2004/2008
L'homme: Lors d'une voyage sur l'île voisine d'Ibiza, Il en tomba amoureux.Sentant que c'était sur ibiza qu'il devait créer, il y déménagea donc pour y vivre et y créer, commençant ainsi une longue période de tranquilité relative bénéfique
L'oeuvre: Un changement radical dans l'évolution de son oeuvre s'apprécie, les bleus cristallins des criques et les rouges feu des couchers de soleil s'y imprégnent d'une façon tout Elect. Avec les collages, sa peinture devint sculpture.
A la différence de Klein qui avait créé sa série de bleus dans le but de contrer une académie se refusant à accepter le bleu comme couleur digne d'intérêt, Eric Le Courtois recherchait la profondeur de la couleur et ses contrastes exposés aux différents lumières existantes ce qui devint une constante de ses monochromes bleus sur papier ou sur toile, des bleus profonds, éclatants qui s'échappent du tableau, synonyme de sérénité, d'infini et de liberté.
2008
L'oeuvre: Quand enfin il eut achevé sa conquête du monochrome bleu,, une longue période de concentration intense dont il ne sortit pas indemne, s'imposa à lui. Naquit une longue série d'oeuvres de pointillisme trichrome tant sur toile que sur papier qu'il fabriqua lui-même à partir de papier journal et qu'il nomme transition.
L'hiver 2008/2009
Il s'isntalle dans son nouvel espace atelier galerie près de San Antonio (benimussa)
L'oeuvre: Célébrant ce déménagement, l'oeuvre se teinte, le temps d'une série, d'une explosion de couleurs tombées sans hasard sur papier fabriqué toujours à partir de papier journal. La transition 2 ludique était née.
2009-2011.
L'homme: Toujours tourmenté par le passé et le devenir de la terre et de l'humanité, souffrant de prémonitions qu'il ne sait ni ne veut interpréter, il se lance dans un grand projet qu'il tardera 2 ans à mener à bien.
L'oeuvre: Elle évolue encore jusqu'à devenir murale sculpturale, minimaliste. Son travail sur la mémoire et les vestiges de ruines , un thème de destruction, reconstruction et accumulation historique mais aussi visionnaire s'imposent en 3D:
Cette vision catatrophique se voit apaisée et purifiée par le blanc dont il a besoin pour éclairer le chaos. 2010/2013 sera donc défini par ses monochromes blancs.
Toutefois, en 2012,
le temps d'une série, il quitte le monochrome et la construction pour revenir au dessin sur papier, allié aux techniques mixtes et au pointillisme
En 2013
le minimalisme constructiviste revient en force chargé de bois et acier, à la fois léger et lourd
En 2014-2015,
L'oeuvre: Le pointillisme revient en force dans les oeuvres d'Eric Le Courtois, un pointillisme qui se dissocie totalement de son fondateur, Seurat et des néoimpressionistes, mais un pointillisme qu'il ramène à son abstrait, au minimalisme, à sa vision de la fin d'une ère, d'un néant proche, très noir, où brille tout de même sa lumière toujours nécessaire, le blanc.
Une première oeuvre très lumineuse suivie de bichromes noir et blancs.
2016-2021
L'artiste, mû par une soif de changement, de tranquilité et d'authenticité, transfère son atelier sur la péninsule ibérique, D'abord dans un petit village de Castilla y León puis finalement en Galice en plein parc natural du Xurés, près du Portugal.
Dans un premier temps, le pointillisme reste une constante. L'oeuvre garde sa force et explose de couleurs et d'émotions. puis, une fois en Galice, l'oeuvre devient dessin,

1957-1992.
The human : when he was a child, Eric Le Courtois, born in Saumur, had already decided, against all, directing his life towards the artistic way, with all the risks that it could bring.
Until the age of 34 years, he shared his paintings between Saumur, France, his home town, the Provence Côte d’azur and Polynesie. He exhibited first in bars, restaurants of Anjou and the surrounding area until 1991 when he won the first prize Young Painting of his city, Saumur. From this moment, so many exhibitions in galleries, salons in Nantes, Saumur, Angers and others cities of the Val de Loire where each piece of artwork he created was a success.
1992-1995.
The human : while all was success for him, in 1992, he realized that this way was not his way. He wanted to know the background, decided to change horizons and began a three-years journey, homeless, the street being his life, walking, alone, on the roads of France and Europe, Paris, Honfleur, Bordeaux, Lyon, etc. And he really knew the background.
The Artwork: with the elements he was able to travel with, paper and inks, his drawings were his only means of survival.
1995-1999.
The human : having lived in the bottom, he decided to resurface and stay where he had « landed » in Haute Savoie. He settled int the town of Thonon les Bains, where, litle by litle, he made himself known and appreciated. He was so abstract himself, living and surviving in the abstract that it was a hard job. He exhibited in many sites and galleries of the dauphiné,Thonon, Evian,but also in Switzerland, in Genève, participating to numerous official acts ( see list of exhibitions).
The artwork : his paintings evolved while he was domitated by Abstract until it was him who dominated the abstract, more often, an abstract with a touch of figurative, where thinking prevailed over spontaneity, where reason prevailed over the senses… Ink, watercolours, acrylics on paper and cardboard.
2000-
Meeting the woman of his life, travelling again between Thonon les Bains, Genève and Malaga in Spain where she was living.. Evolution of his works.
2001-2004
The human: Elect settled in Palma de Mallorca ( Balearic Islands) in his own studio. A new stability and the new bright colors of the island made him to become prolific . He exhibited in several galleries of the island.
The Artwork : Pointillism is present in almost all his works mainly on paper and canvas,he changed the ink by pen. A pointillism built in geometric lines, collages and harmonious polychromes. Mixed medias. Acrylic and watercolors.
2004-2008.
The human :during a trip to the island neighbouring, Ibiza,he fell in love with it. Feeling it was on Ibiza where he should create, he moved to live there.beginning a long period of relative tranquility beneficial for soul and creation
The artwork : A radical change can be appreciated in the evolution of his artwork, the crystalline blue of the see and the fire red sunset impregnated all his works in a way all Elect. With collages, his paintings became sculptures.
In contrast to Yves Klein who created his serie of blues to go against an academy who refused to accept blue as clor worthy of interes, Eric Le Courtois was only looking for the depth of color and contrasts exposed to different existing lights, which became a constant in his blue monochromes on paper and canvas, deep blues bright that escape from the frame,synonymous of serenity, infinity and freedom
2008
The Artwork : when he achieved his conquest of the blue monochomes, began a long period of intense concentration. A proliferic serie of works trichrome in pure pointillism was born, on canvas or on handmade paper, made by himself with newspaper, a pointillism brought into his totally abstract way.He called it Transition.

The ArtWork: celebrating this move, the work is tainted, during the time of a series, by an explosion of color fallen with a thought purpose on the handmade paper

2009-2011
The human : still tormented by the past and the future of the Earth and Humanity, suffering premonitions that he didn’t know nor didn’t want to interpret, he embarked on a major project that he last two years to complete.
The Artwork: it is still evolving until becoming become sculptural, minimalist. His work on the memory and the remains of ruins, a theme of destruction, reconstruction and historic accumulation but also visionary, is necessary in 3D:
This catatrophique vision is soothed and purified by the white he needs to illuminate the chaos. 2010-2013 is defined by his monochromatic whites.
However, in 2012,
During the time of a series, he left the monochrome and construction to return to drawings on paper, combined with mixed media and pointillism.
2013
He came back for his last " Remains of ruins" artworks, the strongest one, accunulation of wood and steel, a heavy and light minimalism
2014-2016
The artwork: Pointillism comes back strongly in Eric Le Courtois's art, a pointillisme that completly dissociates itself from its founder Seurat and the néoimpressionistes, but a pointillisme that he brings into his abstract, his minimalism, his vision of the end of an era, the end of a close, very black nothingness where his always necessary light is still shining, the white. A first very bright work followed by bichromes black & white.
2016- 2021.
As the artist wanted to experiment new horizons, for some peacefully and authentic place, he moved all the workshop, first to a little village into the deep Spain called Castilla y León. and finally to a lovely place in a natural parc, near Portugal, in Galicia.
First, the pointillism still dominate the artworks, full of colors and emotions but once he is a Galicia, all his art becomes drawing

1957-1992
El hombre : De niño, Eric le Courtois ya había decidido,a pesar de las presiones familiares, dirigir su vida hacia un camino artístico con todos los riesgos que dicha vida podía conllevar.
Hasta la edad de 34 años, compartió su pintura entre Saumur, su ciudad natal, la Provence Côte d’Azur via polynesia… Expuso primero en bares, restaurantes de Anjou y alrededores hasta 1991, cuando se llevó el primer premio “pintura joven de la ciudad de Saumur”.
A partir de este momento, empezó un baile de exposiciones en galerías como en salones de Nantes,Angers y otras ciudades del Valle del Loira con gran éxito.
La obra : Trabajando diversas técnicas, primero el oleo,los pasteles, el carboncillo, las acuarelas sobre papel o cartón.
1992-1995
El hombre: Mientras todo le sonreía, en 1992, se dio cuenta de que allí no estaba su camino. Quería conocer el fondo, decidió cambiar de horizontes y empezó un largo viaje de 3 años, la calle siendo su lugar de vida, andando solo por las carreteras de toda Europa, Paris, Honfleur, Burdeos,Lyon,Varsovia, Ginebra.Y tocó fondo.
La obra: Con los únicos elementos que se podía llevar consigo, papel y tinta,sus dibujos fueron sus únicos medios de vida
1995-2000
El hombre: Habiendo tocado fondo, decidió subir a la superficie y se paró allí mismo donde había llegado, en Haute Savoie. Se instaló en Thonon les Bains, donde poco a poco,se hizo conocer y apreciar. Expuso en numerosos sitios y galerías del Dauphiné, Thonon, Evian,etc pero también en Suiza, Ginebra, participando a numerosos actos oficiales.
La obra : su pintura evolucionó y durante una época Eric se dejo dominar por el abstracto hasta que fuera él quién dominó el abstracto, con, a menudo, un toque de figurativo, una obra donde el Pensar fue más fuerte que la espontaneidad,la razón más fuerte que los sentidos.Tinta, acuarela, técnicas mixtas,dibujos, sobre papel.
2000
El hombre : 2000 fue una fecha clave, conoció a su compañera quién le llevó rápidamente a repartir su tiempo y su arte entre Thonon les Bains, y Málaga en Andalucía donde vivía ella, y luego Mallorca, en Baleares, donde la promocionaron.
2001-2004
El hombre. Elect se instaló en Palma de Mallorca donde montó su taller/galería. Una nueva estabilidad y los luminosos colores de la isla le hicieron acelerar su ritmo de producción. Expuso además de su taller, en diversas galerías de la isla de Mallorca.
La obra: El puntillismo está ya presente en prácticamente todas sus obras, principalmente sobre papel, pero también sobre lienzo,un puntillismo integrado en líneas geométricas, en collages y armoniosos polícromos.
2004-2008
El hombre : Con la ocasión de un viaje a la isla vecina de Ibiza, se enamoró del lugar. Sintiendo que allí era donde debía crear, se mudo para vivir a Ibiza en 2004, empezando así un largo periodo de tranquilidad relativa y beneficiosa tanto para él como para su obra.
La obra: Un cambio radical en la evolución de su obra se puede apreciar, los azules cristalinos de las calas y los rojos fuego se impregnan a su manera. Con los collages, su pintura se vuelve escultural.
A la diferencia de Yves Klein quien había creado su serie de azules para oponerse a la academia que no quería considerar el azul como color digno de interés, Eric, él, buscaba la profundidad del color y sus contrastes al ser expuesto a las distintas luces existentes, y ésta búsqueda se volvió una constante de sus monocromos azules, tanto en papel como en lienzos, unos azules profundos, cegadores que se escapan del cuadro, sinónimos de infinidad y libertad.
El puntillismo ha desaparecido por completo para reaparecer reforzado en el periodo siguiente.
2008
La obra: Cuando por fin hubo terminado su conquista del azul, un largo periodo de concentración intensa se le impusó, de la cúal no salió ileso. Nació una larga serie de obras puntillistas bi y tricromos tanto en lienzo como en un papel que fabricó él mismo con una base de papel de periódico.
La llamó TRANSICIÓN.

Invierno 2008/2009
Se instaló en su nuevo taller/galería cerca de SAN ANTONIO ( Cami de Benimussa),
La obra: Celebrando esta mudanza, la obra se tinta, el tiempo de una serie, de una explosión de colores caídos sin azar como un divertimiento, sobre el papel que sigue fabricando a partir de papel de periódico.
La serie Transición 2 Lúdica había nacido,
2009/2013
El hombre: Continuadamente atormentado por el pasado y el porvenir de la tierra y la humanidad, sufriendo premoniciones que no sabe ni quiere interpretar, se lanza en un gran proyecto que tardará 2 años en llevar a cabo.
La obra: evoluciona hasta llegar a ser escultural, minimalista. Su trabajo sobre memoria y vestigios de ruinas, un tema de destrucción, reconstrucción y acumulación histórica pero también visionario se imponen en 3D. Esta visión catastrófica se ve apaciguada y purificada por el blanco que Eric necesita para aportar luz al caos.
2009/2013 sera definido por sus monumentales monócromos blancos.
Noobstante, en 2012,
El tiempo de una serie, deja el monocromo y la construcción para volver al dibujo sobre papel, dibujo entramado entre sus técnicas mixtas y por supuesto, su puntillismo. Una serie como un estallido de colores, que podría estar dedicada a Ibiza, con sus obras sónicas siempre abstractas, claro, sus puestas%2
